Coral Paper Mache Tray

Handcrafted from textural papier maché, the Coral Paper Mache Tray is grand in scale and style. With a subtle floral-like motif, style it on a coffee table or on a side console as part of a layered vignette.

Made from recycled newspaper, they are entirely natural and sustainable. First the newspaper is mixed with water, then chalk and tree sap crystals are added to turn the substance into a clay-like material. The pulp is kneaded into chapati-like forms, then rolled and moulded into the sculptural objects we love. There is no firing, no power used, and the process is entirely eco-friendly. Porous in nature, papier maché should not be exposed to liquids.

Proudly owned and operated in Canada, the mother-daughter team of Irene and Alison travel extensively to source their designs. They especially love India’s rich textile heritage and artisanal traditions, and embrace the opportunity to work with the artisans who handmade each item. Every item in their collection has been selected because it is perfectly imperfect. That is the beauty of handmade. No two items are the same, and each one tells a unique story.
